George Aiken was a Vermont State Senator for 34 years (mid 20th century). Aiken’s Gore, ("gore", meaning a small triangular piece of land") is the name of the valley near Winhall Hollow in Southern Vermont where this piece took place. We chased a lone pink ball around the snow-covered woods with a leaf blower and a video camera (digital) for about 30 minutes to make "Aiken’s Gore". Afterwards, we thought we’d try it on an all-white background, and that completed "Lower Field" (also the name of the area in which the piece took place).
