*Bees- May 2008

Then on May 7th, 2008, a black bear attacked the hives. There had been bear sightings in the area that week.

The bear completely destroyed the hives.

Who knows what kind of fight the bees put up. There were no eye-witnesses to the incident.

Not a trace of honey was left, only a few dead bee bodies.

Luckily, the state of Vermont compensates beekeepers for bear damage.
