7,500 plastic balls floated 1 mile down a river and caught at the end in a chickenwire fence

July 4th, 2001

notice the white sky, perhaps the first warning that all would not go as planned

notice the low water level, only a few inches deep in this particular spot

this photo was taken about an hour after the balls were released. the balls continued to flow for the next three days, backing up against the fence and creating a pink river. later on the same night that we released the balls, there was a record amount of rainfall and the river rose about 2 and 1/2 feet. the night consisted of one of the more insane experiences I've had. read more....
