|
For a year the Russian hive thrived. The Italians swarmed in the fall leaving the hive half full but they still produced honey. |
| In the fall we harvested 3 honey-laden frames from the Russians. |
|
We left both hives with enough honey to last them through the winter. |
|
I borrowed a honey extractor from a neighbor and let it spin for a few hours. |
|
Then I left the frames in front of the hive for the bees to clean off. |
|
Just those three frames yeilded... |
|
...15 jars of honey. |
